YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE YOUR EARS!!!!
HERE IS WHAT BOE MEMBERS THINK OF OUR FAMILIES AND HOW WE SHOULD SPEND OUR MONEY...
This past Thursday evening, the Webster BOE should have been discussing what to do with Carmen Gumina regarding the horrendous court case that had been filed against him and the district 24 hours before.
Instead, they were talking about two potential budgets and what one board member had to say was SHOCKING!
Budget Option 1 would keep everyone’s taxes almost unchanged. As only one BOE member expressed this would be a nice gesture to taxpayers considering the hardships we’ve been through in the last year. This option would allow for 4 new mental health professionals.
Budget Option 2 would push the districts taxes to the cap and would raise everyone’s taxes. This option would allow for 11 new mental health professionals. Concern was expressed once again by only one board member that this may not be necessary and a phased in approach that was more fiscally responsible was suggested.
NOW BUCKLE UP FOR THIS ONE:
Board member Mike Alt in the video below has the audacity to say in response to the comment about taxpayers & families experiencing financial hardships over the last year that it really should not be that big of a deal because many of those struggling got “stimulus checks” or are on “unemployment”. They should be able to afford it.
How insensitive and arrogant can you be Mike?
PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR BUSINESSES AND JOBS!!!
PARENTS HAVE HAD TO REDUCE HOURS OR QUIT JOBS TO BE HOME WITH KIDS!!!
PARENTS ARE INCURRING ADDITIONAL CHILDCARE BILLS, MENTAL HEALTH BILLS FOR THEIR SUFFERING CHILDREN, ETC.!!!
Mike Alt then goes on to express how the district are doing what’s best for the kids??? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?!?!
